Who Pays for CT Termite Inspections in FHA Loans?

Termite Inspections FHA CT Who Pays?Who Pays for CT Termite Inspections in FHA Loans?

Connecticut FHA loans offer low interest rates and flexible credit requirements to make achieving home ownership for CT residents more affordable.

To ensure buyers are investing in a quality home, FHA requires that the borrower hire a licensed termite inspector to ensure the property meet certain standards.

Termite damage can be a costly repair, invisible to the untrained eye. A termite inspector can detect past, present and possible future damage visible termite damage. FHA does NOT dictate who is responsible for the inspection like VA does, so this is negotiable.

If the CT termite inspector findes termites or other wood-eating insects, FHA require the insects be treated and the property reinspected before the loan will be approved. Again, FHA Inspection costs are a negotiable part of the sales contract.

In additon to termites, the termite inspector is actually looking for all wood-destroying insects and organisms (ants, bugs and bees) that can cause damage to the home.
